2026 Biltmore Championship: Walnut Cove Course Breakdown & DFS Golf Picks

After a two-week absence from PGA Tour golf, we are back with the first event of the Fall swing, the debut edition of the Biltmore Championship. The event will be held at the Walnut Cove golf course at the Biltmore resort, designed by Jack Nicklaus in 2005. While I have never been to the Biltmore, I remember it clearly as the place where Duke students would get away with their parents or significant others for a nice weekend in the mountains. It’s certainly a beautiful area of the country. I flew into Asheville last year to check out Wade Hampton and will be returning to the same area in a few weeks. When I first started diving into the golf course, my immediate thought was Valhalla, another Jack Nicklaus design with similar agronomy, and likely, soft conditions. The main difference between Valhalla and what I’m seeing at Walnut Cove, however, is the length of the golf course. Unless the PGA Tour makes any last-minute adjustments, the golf course is expected to play just a hair over 7,100 yards, and since the golf course plays at altitude, the effective yardage will be more like 6,900 yards.
