Inside Sports Network's new Insider Sheet model breaks down the latest projections for every PGA Tour event and calculates the top value plays each week. This week, we've taken a look at the top five value plays at or under $8,000 in ISN's model to break down their recent form and relevant stats.
Andrew Putnam ($7,000)
One look at Putnam's approach numbers this season is good reason enough why he's creeping up in ownership this week. He's gained on APP in 3 straight and 5 of 6 tournaments, and that combined with a nearly-always plus putter has made up for a very suspect OTT game. (Seriously, Putnam hasn't lost strokes with the putter since April.) Course history isn't important here, but Putnam has wild swings regardless -- two top-20 finishes spliced among three missed cuts.
Max Greyserman ($7,700)
This might be the polar opposite of Putnam, who's gained on approach routinely over the past several weeks. Greyserman? Not so much. He's lost APP in a big way over the past six weeks. But before that? Greyserman gained 11 strokes on approach en route to a T9 at TPC Craig Ranch. Remember: He's got good vibes here, as his runner-up finish in 2024 can attest. If he's about to get right, this is a good jumping-on spot.
