Inside Sports Network's new Insider Sheet model breaks down the latest projections for every PGA Tour event and calculates the top value plays each week. This week, we've taken a look at the top five value plays at or under $8,000 in ISN's model to break down their recent form and relevant stats.
Tony Finau ($7,100)
A few savvy ISN staffers have been chasing a Tony Finau resurgence for a while now -- to mixed results. Finau had made four straight cuts before a lackluster showing at the 3M Open, but Tony returns now to a venue where he won back in 2022. Might some good vibes get Finau back on a positive stretch of golf? Big Tony's off-the-tee bona fides are well established but it's the approach game that's been hit or miss this season. Still, when everything clicks -- like it did en route to a 6th-place finish at the CJ Cup -- Finau still has the tools to contend.
Sungjae Im ($7,000)
It pains me to write this entry, as someone who had multiple Sungjae bets and used him in OAD last week only for him to miss the cut without much fanfare. Watching much of his rounds, he didn't look even as good as his -1.4 SG:APP even suggested. Yet we are just two weeks removed from his impressive display at The Open, and if short game seems to fit an important narrative here, you could do worse at $7K flat than Sungjae. Careful, though; his ownership is a bit higher than you'd expect.
