2026 FedEx-St. Jude Championship: DFS Picks and Course Analysis

Overview

The FedEx Cup playoffs kick off with the FedEx St. Jude Championship, a field of the 70 best players from the 2026 regular season. This event will not feature a cut, and at the end of the week, the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings will advance to the BMW Championship at Bellerive. I’m not the biggest TPC Southwind fan, but that’s not necessarily because TPC Southwind is a bad PGA Tour course – it’s a perfectly average PGA Tour course – I just don’t think it’s suitable to host a FedEx Cup playoffs event, especially if we are really trying to elevate the playoffs and make them feel special and different. TPC Southwind is an extremely average, run of the mill, TPC style, Florida style, water-heavy golf course. It is very similar to TPC Twin Cities or PGA National, and these courses are completely fine to host a random PGA Tour event in March or July, but I cannot think of a simple redeeming quality towards TPC Southwind that would lead me to believe it deserves to host one of the PGA Tour’s “biggest events of the season.”
