2026 BMW International Open -- DFS Picks and Course Analysis

This week's BMW International Open is being held at longtime host Golfclub München Eichenried. Eichenried is a 7,354 yard par 72, treelined parkland course featuring numerous water hazards that come into play. Munich is at around 1,600 feet of altitude, so this yardage plays about 2% less than listed. The property is mostly flat, with the bentgrass greens featuring small ridges and gentle undulations. Over the past 5 years, the scoring average has been -0.77 with an average winning score of -18.8. The harder 2023 event (impacted by a storm and higher winds) played 0.44 shots over par and was won at -13, while the easier 2025 and 2022 events were won at -22 with average scores of -1.53 and -1.43.

There is plenty of risk and reward at Eichenried. All four par 5’s are very reachable at between 546 and 575 yards but feature water at the front of the green. As does the dangerous drivable 319 yard par 4 16th, which is usually played at 270 yards over the weekend. The 340 yard 5th is also drivable at times for the longer hitters, with the tee occasionally pushed forward so more of the field can carry the ditch in front of the green. While these holes offer plenty of birdie opportunities, there are plenty of demanding holes too. Three of the par 3’s are over 210 yards and there are five par 4’s over 450 yards. The combination of long par 3’s, enough long par 4’s, and four very reachable par 5’s puts a lot of middle to long irons in the players' hands this week.
