2026 Travelers Championship Final Thoughts
Weather I know there isn’t a classic wave split in a Signature Event, but I would definitely give an edge to those who are teeing off early on Thursday, and I would imagine that the first-round leader tees off fairly early that morning, given that there isn’t a single breath of wind. I’m not really factoring a wave split into my pool, but all four of my core plays are teeing off before 11:00 AM on Thursday and will play at least half of their round before the wind gusts begin

2026 US Open Final Thoughts, Weather, & Betting Card
Weather The biggest change from last night in the weather when looking at the HRRR is that Friday to me looks way more consistent throughout the day, but let’s start with the elephant in the room: Thursday. By 10AM, we are looking at 40 mph gusts (up to 45 mph by 1 pm), and consistent wind speeds of 20-27 mph. There is certainly a small pocket between 7:00 and 9:00 AM where players are going to miss it, but this is only really advantageous for 9 to 12 of those players’ holes

2026 RBC Canadian Open Final Thoughts
Weather Much has been made about the weather this week and this would be my interpretation from diving into windy.com (to my knowledge, a now superior source to wind finder.) What is most concerning about this forecast are the high gusts in the morning, but that is happening both days. Gusts are over 20 mph from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, and it’s pretty much the exact same story on Friday, so I’m not sure I see any real advantage here. I would say that this is enough w

2026 Memorial Tournament Final Thoughts
Weather This is going to be a healthy and firm Memorial. If we follow the trend that if conditions are neutral, almost every course is going to keep trending easier, I do think we fall into a +1.25 zone with scoring, slightly below the five year average here of +1.33, but this area has not seen any rain, and the wind really starts to kick up on Friday and Saturday. I would expect Thursday to be the easiest day, which should play around +0.75, and then the golf course to get p

2026 Charles Schwab Challenge Final Thoughts
Weather The biggest takeaway from this weather forecast is that this will undeniably be an easier Colonial. I see that Steve has already lined up pretty hard on round unders and winning score bets, and I absolutely think there is a scenario where the books are just completely off here and not understanding the impact that soft conditions can have on scoring. The average scoring average from the last five years at Colonial is +0.62, and our projections right now are at -0.25,

2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson Final Thoughts
Weather The good news is that the super forecast looks positive for Thursday and Friday, and that there is a good chance that there won’t be any delays. With that being said, the rain is coming on Thursday evening, and the course will get dumped on over night. By this angle, I could certainly see the argument for PM/AM. With that being said, the weather looks abhorrent over the weekend. It’s a shame, because the softer conditions should offset a lot of the good done by the re

2026 PGA Championship Final Thoughts
Weather While I will save most of the weather talk for the show tonight with the great Twitterless Steve, there are a few key main points I want to circle back to. Firstly, the narrative of these players annihilating Aronimink has gone way too far. I’m not betting winning score prop this week, but it’s pretty telling that the books are staying pretty sturdy on -12.5, despite multiple players and media members insinuating that this tournament can be won at 20-under par. I can

2026 Truist Championship Final Thoughts
Weather This isn’t great weather for the Truist. It’s going to be cold and rainy, particularly on Thursday, and I think there is a very solid chance that we see a delay off the bat. While there is not really a true wave split in a 72 man field, this is going to push Thursday AM into Thursday PM and Thursday PM into Friday AM, which may actually be the worst conditions, so perhaps I’m overthinking this, but the later tee times on Thursday might get hurt the most by this, espec

2026 Cadillac Championship Final Thoughts
Weather I’m really excited to see how this golf course plays tomorrow. I’ve heard some takes from all over the map. Ultimately, I’m holding an over 273.5 (winning score will be harder than -14.5), which I would still say I feel good about, but Steve and I have gotten closer to an overall scoring average of +0.25 than our original opinion of +0.5. I just keep going back to LIV Miami 2024, where the scoring average was +0.15 with a field that is a stroke per round worse than th

2026 RBC Heritage Final Thoughts
Weather What’s conclusive from here is that the afternoon on both days should be more challenging than the morning, but given there are no staggered tee times, I wouldn’t argue for any sort of wave edge. The bigger story here is the firmness of this golf course and the revived undulation and bounciness of the new greens. This leads me to place an increased emphasis on overall APP play and ARG play. Putting might be more challenging this year as well, but the playing field is

2026 Masters Final Thoughts
Weather For a full weather briefly, I would highly encourage you to check out the premium show that Steve and I did last night. Hopefully it was the perfect balance of fun and informative, and if you enjoyed it, we will absolutely bring it back for every major. Now that we have a super forecast, there are two key points that I really want to highlight. First, Thursday morning might be the most difficult conditions that players experience all week. If the scoring average isn’t

2026 Valero Texas Open Final Thoughts
Weather This is certainly one of the more extreme forecasts I’ve seen in quite some time, and especially after far too of an aggressive move at Houston last week on the over, I’m taking a more conservative approach this week. The potential for rain and delays loom large here, and Sunday looks particularly awful from a rain perspective, so let’s focus on what we do know and can control, which is the super forecast across Thursday and Friday. To me, this looks like AM/PM should

2026 Houston Open Final Thoughts
Weather I don’t see a whole lot here and I would say I’m a bit surprised that Datagolf is reflecting a wave edge for AM/PM. I would probably still lean towards AM/PM, but the slight wind gusts that are picking up on Thursday afternoon do not even begin under 5:00 PM when that entire wave is finishing their round anyway. I don’t think there is much there to be honest. I would much rather attack the winning score prop, which Steve and I have both bet and comment on the fact tha

2026 Valspar Championship Final Thoughts
Weather There’s a lot of good news in this weather report. The early week rain was not half as significant as the early forecast displayed, and the course should be just as firm as we have seen over the last couple years at this event. Secondly, Thursday and Friday mornings look near identical from a wind standpoint, and while Friday afternoon looks a touch easier than Thursday afternoon, I would not say the difference is strong enough for me to advocate for a wave advantage.
